Minoan Air to Launch Edinburgh, Oxford Flights

Good news!!!

According to Greek Reporter the Crete-based Minoan Air said it is going to begin flights from Oxford airport in the United Kingdom to both Edinburgh and Dublin starting in March.

The carrier will be the first Greek airline to establish an operational base outside of Greece. The twice-daily flights will operate between the Scottish capital and LondonOxfordAirport.

They will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until May, when the frequency will be increased to twice-daily on weekdays and once on Sundays.

Minoan Air’s management team has now reached a deal with LondonOxfordAirport so as to base up to three Fokker 50 turboprops in order to inaugurate flights to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, Edinburgh and Munich this month as well. More routes are as well under examination, while Minoan Air remains in talks with LondonOxfordAirport over a second phase of growth.

London Oxford Airport Managing Director Andi Pargeter stated that: “Minoan flights to Edinburgh will take an hour-and-a-half, making a day return to Scotland a practical choice. The two cities have a lot of synergy, but rail journeys between Oxford and Edinburgh can typically take six hours or more”
