Tango Acropolis Festival of 2013 is based on the concept of human unity expressed through the tango embrace which constitutes a universal form of expression and communication.
Knowing that this embrace is an international symbol of proximity and peace and tango as a dance is part of world intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO (Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of the UN), the message of human solidarity, peace and reciprocity starts and will always revert to the most important symbol of culture-Athens’ Acropolis.
The goal of this Festival is therefore to establish a universal cultural bond guiding the whole world of tango to the city which gave birth to civilization, near the strongest Cultural brand name, the Acropolis, thus emitting a transpiring signal of optimism and Peace and reverting to the great values of Greek civilization through this International dance event.
This cultural event is under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism of Greece the Embassy of Argentina in Greece and the Athens Municipal.
