The octagonal Agia Sophia (Church of Holy Wisdom) overlooks the Aegean in Monemvasia, a town at the top of a rocky island off Peloponnesus. Walking Monemvasia’s Byzantine streets is like going back in time: Cars are forbidden and must be left at the entrance bridge.
