Carlson Wagonlit Travel wins Double at Business Travel Awards 2014

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) was last night honoured with two awards at the Business Travel Awards – Best Travel Management Company (more than £200m UK annual sales) and Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme.
The judges noted that CWT was “raising the bar in demonstrating the value that travel can bring to a corporate’s objectives.” They also commented that they “liked CWT’s ability to tailor solutions, not only for global organisations but for smaller clients too.”
Nigel Turner, director of programme management and business development, CWT, who collected both awards, commented: «We are delighted that the industry has recognised us as the best TMC. With this great accolade comes responsibility to the industry and our travellers, so to also pick up the award for best CSR campaign indicates that our efforts in this area are positively impacting our clients’ travel programmes.»
Sandy Moring, senior director, market strategy, business services & sustainability, CWT, said: “There was tough competition from the industry for both awards so we are particularly pleased with the win for the CSR campaign entry, which was awarded to us on the strengths of the  CWT Travel Stress Index and our Responsible Business Report as well as local UK programmes.”
The judges said of the CSR award win, “CWT is out there leading the competition into new territory, and setting a new benchmark, challenging others to follow.”
The glittering ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel and attended by 1,300 members of the business travel industry. CWT is a global leader specialised in managing business travel and meetings and events.
