Aeroflot’s low-cost carrier Dobrolet will start performing flights in spring 2014 according to www.rustourismnews.com. Dobrolet will be based in Moscow region. Initially Dobrolet will be performing flights in European part of Russia: to St. Petersburg, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Perm. The carrier’s route network will comprise 12 destinations by 2015. The new carrier ordered Boeing 737-800NG jets with 170 seats capacity in single-class layout.
The reduction of transportation cost up to 40 % compared to the “traditional” carriers will be achieved in several ways. Among them are: the increase of the number of seats in the cabin of an aircraft by reducing the pitch between the seats and fixed backrests; only direct ticket sales; an additional payment for a comfort seat, checked baggage, priority boarding, and meals on board; a possibility to book and sell additional services online at the company’s web site. The average ticket price from Moskow to St. Petersburg now is 3500 rubles, to Samara 4000 rubles, Yekaterinburg- 6000 rubles.
