From Zeus to Aphrodite, passing through Artemis and Adonis, Dolce&Gabbana referenced many Greek gods in their Spring Summer 2014 collections, but which one are you?
There appears to be a resurgence in the interest of the Ancient Greek myths and the gods that loved, hated, controlled and were subject of the human race. The trend is evident in film, with many Ancient Greek inspired movies hitting the big screen between 2013 and 2014, but fashion is not far behind either.
Dolce&Gabbana were inspired by the Magna Graecia, basically the Southern Italian (with particular reference to Sicily) colonies of the Ancient Greek civilization.
It is no surprise that both the myths and the actual legacy of the civilization may be of such an inspiration as they represent both a romantic and imaginary reality as well as some of the most important elements of the development of contemporary society.
