night pictures are a bit shaky
they were taken last year, when I hadn’t taken photography lessons yet
sorry
As you may recall, one of my lifetime projects is “the rooftop pool” Project reports http://www.ablondearoundtheworld.com .
Sure it sounds good, but what is that about?
My project is to visit -and dip into- one rooftop pool in each of the World’s capitals.
Why is that a lifetime project?
Cause it will surely take me that long to fulfill it! ![]()
So for my visit to Athens, I obviously had to chose a hotel that had such facility!
I ended up choosing the Melia Hotel in Chalkokondili Street, and its gorgeous rooftop pool overlooking the Parthenon and Athens’ rooftops.
I usually like to stay in typical places and didn’t like the idea of choosing a hotel chain, but since I was searching for a hotel with a rooftop pool I had to go for it, and I had to say I totally enjoyed it: our room was big and comfortable, with a total window on Chakokondili and 28th October street, and even a hydromassage jacuzzi…
The price is was surprised me the most, as it costed only 95,00€/night!
Why should you book an hotel with a rooftop pool in Athens?
Waking up and having breakfast by the pool, and having a morning swim, are some of the best memories I have from Athens!
At night, the rooftop pool is unfortunately not accessible for swimming, but it turns into a sky lounge bar, where you can sip a cocktail and party with stunning views over the glittering Acropolis and the city lights!
feeling so spoiled with a morning swim on top of the city center!
