FOX International Channels will invest in debt-stricken Greece and even start a new cooking channel

According to The Pappas post, FOX and National Geographic will continue to invest in Greece. So said Adam Theiler, Senior Vice President of FOX International Channels Southeast Europe, during the official unveiling of a raft of brand new programming exclusive to the estimated 450,000+ cable and satellite viewers in Greece.

“We are going to produce documentaries in Greece,” said Theiler during a special ceremony in Athens on January 23. “We are going to continue to hire Greek cameramen and women. We are going to do a Greek cooking channel.

“We absolutely believe in this country,” he added, noting that the success of FOX International Channels in Greece – part of News Corp, one of the biggest distributors of television content, television channels and multimedia services in the world.

In turn, Nadia Demiri, the commercial director of FOX International Channels Greece, stressed the company’s commitment to Greece “in this difficult and challenging times”.

The event was attended by Greece’s best known actors, musicians and media executives. They got a taste of the new programming on FOX, FOXlife and the National Geographic Channel (Fox International Channels took full control of National Geographic Channel International and its content sales arm in 2011).

Fox’s new pay-per-view lineup (only for those who get cable TV or satellite) will kick off with exclusive world premieres of some of the most popular shows like JO with Jean Reno on February 27. New episodes of award-winning series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland, Glee, The Walking Dead and Modern Family among others, will also be aired this year.
