
A new study from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows the impacts of air pollution on our health, and the importance of working for clean air in Europe.
Commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik emphasised the need to react to this information, and strengthen the fight for clean air:
«EU air policy must be based on the latest science. That is why I asked the WHO to undertake this research. The links it has found between air pollution and human health reinforce the case for scaling up our policy.»
This report will influence the outcome of European Commission air policy reviews during the 2013 Year of Air.
