Mythos Beach Resort Hotel in Rhodes certified as allergy-friendly

 

The Mythos Beach Resort Hotel in Afandou, Rhodes, has implemented measures to provide guests with allergies with the services they need at the highest level of quality, and therefore has been awarded with the ECARF Seal of Quality for allergy-friendly products and services. It is the first resort hotel in Greece to receive this award.

The five-star hotel is a part of the Aqua Sol Hotel Group and operates exclusively with Scandinavian customers. It offers more than 240 rooms and three restaurants that are equipped to meet the needs of allergic visitors.

«Our customers expect the highest standards of comfort and service,» says Stavros Panayides, Director of the Mythos Beach Resort Hotel. «Our Scandinavian guests expect us to respond to their specific needs. With our attention to the requirements of our allergic clients we improve the experience not only for visitors with allergies, but also for their family members,» adds Mr. Panayides.

«One in three Europeans is affected by one or more allergies, and rates are increasing continuously. Allergies are a heavy burden, especially when travelling, and hotels and restaurants are often not sufficiently informed about the needs of allergic individuals. With relatively simple and smart choices, a hotel can significantly improve quality of life for allergic visitors,” explains the ECARF Ambassador in Greece, Michael P. Makris MD, PhD.

The Mythos Beach Resort has adapted its services according to the scientific criteria defined by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF), and it now meets the needs of individuals who have an allergic sensitivity to dust mites, animal hair, certain plants or specific food products. The allergy-friendly rooms have smooth floors and mite-proof coverings for mattresses, pillows and blankets. The floors are cleaned with vacuum cleaners equipped with special HEPA filters for more thorough elimination of allergens. In addition, the hotel’s restaurants offer allergy-friendly options for dining and breakfast, including nut-free varieties of muesli, lactose-free milk and lactose-free milk products, soy milk and soy yogurt, and also gluten-free meat products and gluten-free bread. Food products and ingredients that can cause allergies, such as nuts, almonds, celery or cow’s milk, are clearly marked. The kitchen and service staff is trained to provide information to allergic guests about the suitability of products.
