Zografos Wants Germans To Invest In Greece

The Greek ambassador in Berlin, Panagiotis Zografos has called on German companies to invest in Greece while highlighting the commitment of Athens to make reforms demanded by international lenders – primarily Germany according to GreeReporter.

“We are dealing with human beings and human destinies here, ” he said in an interview with  Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, noting Greece’s record 26.9 percent unemployment rate, some 64 percent for those under 25.

“Those people we are dealing with are in need. There is a lack of jobs – for this reason I am calling on all German companies to invest in Greece,” he said. He also asked for creditors to promote their investments in order to achieve development, because he said conditions are favorable.

“Greece regains its credibility internationally, the political situation – despite the recent government crisis – has been stable, the government has been strictly following the reforms,” said Zografos. He added that there are signs that foreign investors are going to return to Greece and that German companies should take advantage of the opportunity to do so now too.
