The islands of Milos and Santorini float in the molten, gold AgeanSea. Through the lens of photographer, Sana Javeri Kadri, we see a Greece far removed from the street-shaking unrest that flashes onto our 6 o’ clock news.

The buildings are doused in bright white; waking them from their doze in the shimmering heat.  Flowers drenched in colour cling to neutral walls and the houses perch onto the caldera, peering down onto the blue lagoon.

3600 years ago the site of Santorini witnessed one of the largest volcanic eruptions in history; the Minoan eruption. Milos is also of volcanic origin.
